The only 18th-century home remaining on Hartford's Main Street witnessed the city's evolution from the time of the American Revolution until the mid-twentieth century. Original furnishings range from Connecticut-crafted colonial furniture to Victorian-era toys and paintings. The expansive property features a restored Victorian ornamental garden, laid out in 1865 by landscape designer Jacob Weidenmann. An oasis of history and charm, it is a superb location for outdoor weddings and parties. The adjoining Amos Bull House & Community Meeting Room afford space for indoor meetings and gatherings.
Facility rentals are available April to November.
The extensive lawn may be tented for groups up to 225.
Intimate indoor spaces include rooms in the historic house and exhibit wing that support small events for up to 55 guests.
Events at the Butler-McCook House & Garden may also make use of the outdoor terrace, catering kitchen, and indoor community meeting space at the adjoining Amos Bull House.
